Job/Work/Project Description: Develops and implements the operational/tactical Marketing Plans (calendar year) for the designated crop(s) under the leadership of the Product Business Manager and in close collaboration with the area sales teams, trial officers, breeders, supply chain, etc. Maintains current marketing data in system tools (MAPS, PMD).
•Supports the PBM in the development and continuous up-dates of the strategic crop plan.
•Implements aspects of the annual marketing plan.
•Contributes to decision making platforms as needed
•Implements tactical marketing support (advertising, promotion, sales sheets, dealer/grower events, trade shows, etc.) and monitors and supports the compliance of Sales, PD, SC, etc. with the actions stipulated in the Marketing
•Ensures Marketing Support groups timely production and delivery of required marketing and communication material as stipulated in the marketing plan.
•Supports the PBM in crop marketing processes, i.e. pricing, product positioning, etc.
•Responsible for competitor and market information and dynamics. Identifies trends and anticipates potential threats/opportunities for our crop business.
•Support the sales force by visiting trials consistently, providing technical knowledge, technical variety information, variety positioning, market trends. Act and be seen as a resident expert in the field as it relates to products in the field and tactical marketing support.
•Liaises closely and effectively with sales, trial officers and breeders, recommends and follows-up on trials and ensures customer (growers/dealer) feed-back loop to PBM, Product Development and Supply Chain
Conducts customer support meetings.
Critical Knowledge:
•Bachelor's degree in marketing or related product development or agronomic field.
•Agricultural based marketing experience desirable
•Good knowledge of the vegetables seeds industry
•Knowledge of breeding/research technologies.

Critical Experience:
•Minimum 5 years of proven track record in commercial or marketing function in the vegetables business

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS
PHYSICAL DEMANDS OF THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: may be required to lift up to 40 lbs. Extensive travel required (up to 50% of job).
WORKING CONDITIONS WHILE PERFORMING ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS. Combination of office and fieldwork. Conditions are often dirty, dusty, and hot in combination with noisy equipment. Potential allergens – pollen, fungal spores, chemical pesticides in field or greenhouse. Exposure to high and low temperatures, sun, rain, and dust. Significant domestic and international travel throughout key markets required.
