Role Purpose

This position will be responsible for providing analysis and reporting services to end users, documenting existing data sources and business rules, and gathering business requirements for critical projects and initiatives. This role will work closely with business users to understand their information needs and ensure that information is available at acceptable levels of data quality. To ensure the business has the information they need, this position will interface frequently with internal IS, strategic business partners and potential vendors. Accountabilities

Role Purpose –

To provide application support with major seed companies and distributors. 
To provide technical expertise on the fitness of ST formulations for the market. This would include all handling characteristics such as flow ability, compatibility, plant ability, seed storage stability, and dust-off and then scaling up the application practices to seed company acceptance levels. Work with third party suppliers of polymers, inoculants and adjuvants for evaluation and potential for inclusion into Syngenta application systems. Financial Analyst – Research Triangle Park, NC 

Role Purpose – 

Build an effective and collaborative relationship with assigned Business Unit to ensure that all financial needs regarding daily operations, budget and portfolio are met.

Accountabilities – 

Work with assigned cost center managers to develop and subsequently assess budgets and latest estimates. • Develop relationship with related regional/global business financial controller to allow for optimal communication flows and visibility of results and issues on site. • Analyze actual to planned variances and prepare monthly commentary and management presentations. • Work together with Legal and assigned Business Unit to understand, track and correctly account for collaborations and other related contracts. • Manage the capital purchase requests for assigned cost centers including project team involvement in the larger capital projects. • Report budget information in the Portfolio planning tool. • Train science community on financial matters as needed. • Effectively manage and develop a direct report. • Other duties and analysis as assigned by the Finance Manager.

Knowledge, experience & capabilities –

Critical knowledge:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, with a concentration in accounting or finance is required.

Critical experience:

• A minimum of 7 years accounting experience is required. • Experience preparing company budgets • Ability to generate and communicate ad hoc financial analysis

Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Attention to detail and quality processes. • Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills. • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects and deadlines • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required). Experience with Scala, SAP, FRx, and Best FAS preferred.

International Operations Specialist (I-IV) - Greensboro, NC

CP – International Operations Specialist (I-IV) – Greensboro, NC

Role Purpose – 

Responsible for managing customer service activities and international transportation logistics for the successful and cost-effective delivery of active ingredients, raw materials and finished products to and from Syngenta IMC's and third party customers. • Executes the transport and country specific documentation required for Syngenta export shipments in assigned trade-lanes or region. • Represents U.S. International Operations in local and global Supply Chain decisions.

Accountabilities – 

Ensures that all inbound or outbound international shipments are in regulatory compliance, and initiates corrective action for any customer service issues for assigned countries. • Experience in screening for requirements of U.S. Export Controls and U.S. Customs procedures is required. • Syngenta's U.S. export business is at $300 million annually with shipments consigned to 48 different countries. The import business is rapidly growing with a commercial value of $600 million annually with duty liabilities of approximately $20 million.

Knowledge, experience & capabilities –

Critical knowledge:

Position requires a college degree with 2-5 years business experience preferably in Supply Chain Operations, Customer Service, Logistics or a International business field. • Proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, German, or Chinese would be a plus. • Candidate should have a working knowledge of export control regulations and IMDG, IATA, and DOT hazmat regulations. • Preferred that candidate have US Customs broker license.

Critical experience:

Experience in International Freight Forwarding or U.S. Customs Brokerage is critical. • Background in Trade Control and US Customs regulations. • Work in related fields as International Trade, Customer Service, order processing, and International transportation in the chemical industry would be a plus.

Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities:

Candidate should possess excellent interpersonal skills, have an analytical mind, be detail-oriented, and possess strong organizational skills. • Proficiency with IBM compatible computers is a must. Proficiency in SAP, E-mail, and excellent phone and written communication skills is a must. • Candidate must have strong leadership skills and possess the ability to communicate in a global supply chain with diverse language and cultures. • Licensed, or has general knowledge of U.S. Customs import procedures. • Experience in Export Control regulations in initiating export activities for specifically assigned products. • General knowledge of Customs Bonded shipment requirements, and Foreign Trade Zone activities.

Communications Manager - Greensboro, NC

Communications Manager – Greensboro, NC

 

Role Purpose

 

The Media Relations Mgr will reside in our Greensboro, NC, regional headquarters with responsibility for implementing issues management strategies at the direction of the CP external communications head and for managing Ag trade media relationships.

 

Accountabilities –

 

Write news releases, standby statements and other communications materials. • Develop communication strategies for assigned areas of the CP business. • Provide issues management support to the CP plant sites and community relations support in Greensboro. • Assist in media training, as needed, for company executives, scientists and brand management. • Provide media monitoring on all issues impacting the NAFTA businesses. • Represent the company at industry events and trade shows that support CP business units.

 

Knowledge, experience & capabilities –

 

Critical knowledge:

 

The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in communications or related field; knowledge of media relations procedures; knowledge of internal/external sources to accomplish communications goals; understanding of how the public perceives Syngenta products and their potential to impact the environment.

 

Critical experience:

 

Candidate should have at least 10 years of communications experience; experience in the Ag chem industry is preferred. The candidate must be a strong writer and communicator, with a solid background in media relations, external affairs, crisis and issues management, as well as proven success in previous positions.
