Financial Analyst – Capital Projects Group – St Gabriel, LA - 889

Role Purpose – 

Act as a Finance Advisor for the Capital Projects Group (CPG) and Supply Chain organization influencing the business strategy and decision making by providing financial expertise and challenging business views. The main focus will be on the development of business cases and capital tracking. The individual will need to quickly gain a broad understanding of Supply Chain processes to be successful in the role. In addition, a key focus will be evaluating and improving CPC processes. The overall goal is to assist the CPG organization in maximizing its financial potential while maintaining the integrity of the financial data. • Lead the development of financial cases for all NAFTA cost Return on Investment type projects • Overall regional responsibility for capital forecasting and spend reporting • Provide consistent, reporting on capital spending for NAFTA • Analyze completed projects to evaluate achievement of cost savings benefits • Ensuring effective procedures are in place to control and account for capital spend

Accountabilities – 

Provide financial leadership and direction to the CPG. • Provide support to teams developing capital expenditure proposals by challenging project objectives and assumptions to ensure consistent quality and accuracy. • Lead the development of financially sound business cases (NPV/IRR/ROI) for all NAFTA capital projects, liaising with SC Finance Manager or his Designee on major capital projects • Provide special financial analyses as requested by CPG management • Coordinate financial planning for the CPG including the development of long-term strategy, operating budgets, LE's, etc. • Ensure the only approved projects are released for capital spending. • Prepare monthly, quarterly and other reports required by Corporate for capital spending • Prepare and track ten year tax exemption applications, contracts affidavits and follow up documentation

Knowledge, experience & capabilities –

Critical knowledge:

Undergraduate degree in Accounting • General knowledge of tax laws pertaining to assets • Proficiency in SAP asset, investment and projects system modules

Critical technical, professional and personal capabilities:

Effective use of Excel, Word and SAP • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (oral and written) to deal with all levels of the organization. • Ability to simplify complex data and give clarity to the information. • Ability to use analytical and business case development skills to identify and drive cost savings and process improvement. • Adaptable to changing situations with ability to handle multiple projects concurrently. • Ability to work well with groups or in teams. • Ability to anticipate problems and challenge management decisions. • Development in financial cases for capital projects

Agency Account Service and Public Relations Professionals

Current searches include a variety of agricultural marketing communications positions for multiple marketing communications agencies who are focused on delivering best-in-class agricultural marketing for well respected national accounts.   If you have experience in crops, livestock or both, we would like to talk to you.  

 

For agronomy marketing positions, we are especially seeking row crop experience and specifically corn and soybeans.   Previous experience working with both seed and pesticides is helpful.  With respect to livestock marketing; experience in beef, dairy and swine markets are desired.   We also have positions in both animal health and animal nutrition.  We are also interested in companion animal experience, including dogs and cats as well as equine.

 

Examples of current positions include multiple advertising account managers and an advertising account supervisor.  Desired candidates will have demonstrated a successful track record and series of promotions as account service professionals in a marketing communications setting.  This can include integrated communications, web, direct, advertising and/or PR.  You must have a working knowledge of multiple communications disciplines.  We have an urgent need for beef and dairy experience.

 

In addition, we are looking for a public relations account supervisor.  Successful public relations candidates will have demonstrated a successful track record of traditional and innovative PR practices in a marketing communications or editorial setting. Strong industry/media contacts are a must, as is a background in the beef and swine markets.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of BS or BA in a relevant field (animal science, ag communications/journalism, marketing, journalism, business, etc.)
  • Between two and ten years of relevant marketing experience.
  • A proven track record of agency experience; additional experience on the client side is a plus. 
  • Portfolio of attractive brands and examples of successful marketing programs.
  • Seeking people with public relations, direct, advertising and high quality collateral experience.
  • Must be capable of taking a lead role for your functional area in client programs, within the internal agency setting and with clients.
  • Seeking people with both business to business (B2B) marketing experience as well as consumer marketers (B2C).
  • Cross industry experience is also helpful but not required.

  • Initiate and coordinate fundraising efforts to support and grow CFJC programs - includes grant writing, building a dues-paying membership base, event planning and donor recruitment.
  • Work with steering committee and members to develop and monitor organizational priorities and work in accordance with goals set in CFJC's strategic plan.
  • Work with CFJC Steering Committee to transition CFJC into an independent organization supported by an active board.
  • Provide staffing to the Steering Committee and its sub-committees, coordinating communication and assisting in new member recruitment
  • Coordinate CFJC outreach and organizing efforts to expand coalition membership and build partnerships.
  • Hire and supervise CFJC staff, interns and contractors.
  • Manage communication with statewide members and partners.
  • Manage organizational systems, including a contact database, list serve and website management.
  • Develop and monitor program budgets in coordination with CFJC steering committee, and review financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with and timely reporting on all CFJC contracts.  
  • Coordinate advocacy campaigns and organizing efforts on public policy issues as identified by members and steering committee.

  • Conduct public speaking and public relations on behalf of the coalition and its campaigns as needed and/or requested.   
QUALIFICATIONS 
  • Minimum of three (3) years in a nonprofit management and/or administrative role, including experience with budgeting and fiscal management.  
  • Substantive knowledge of community food security, local food systems, urban agriculture, sustainable agriculture, family farm, or anti-hunger fields in California
  • Experience with fundraising and development (e.g., donor development, grant management, grant proposal writing, special events).  
  • Human Resource experience including hiring/firing staff and interns, mentoring and evaluating.
  • Possess a combination of experiences in program development, outreach, community organizing, and public speaking, including experience planning participatory educational events and coordinating policy campaigns or doing political organizing.
  • Able to work some weekends and evenings and to travel to conferences and workshops around the state and possibly country as needed
  • Excellent written, oral communication, networking, negotiation (conflict management and resolution), and presentation skills.  
  • Ability to work on advisory committees, task forces, and external coalitions, and take on effective leadership roles.  
  • Excellent office management and computer literacy (IT) skills (including MS Office applications, FileMaker Pro database, internet research).  
  • Fluency in Spanish desirable, but not required.  
  • Candidates must have the ability to work with diverse groups; be knowledgeable about to issues of race, class and gender and how they influence the food system; and demonstrate experience working with oppressed communities to create change. 
ABOUT CFJC  CFJC is a statewide membership coalition committed to the basic human right to healthy food while advancing social, agricultural and environmental justice. CFJC collaborates with community-based groups in the state to develop and carry out advocacy, educational and organizing campaigns that support grassroots solutions. We envision a California food system in which all activities, from farm to table, are equitable, healthful, sustainable, regenerative and community-driven. CFJC is a fiscally sponsored organization of the Ecology Center and operates under the Ecology Center's administrative polices and procedures.   Since 2003 CFJC has built a diverse network of advocates to work together to promote a just and sustainable food system. Plant Performance Specialist – Field /Work from Home office – (Candidate can be located in Northern, IL, Wisconsin, MN, or IA) - 932

Role Purpose – 

The Plant Performance Specialist role is a new role to Syngenta and the Northern Field Crops Business unit. The role is directly responsible for improving Syngenta's focus and success in the emerging plant performance markets in the row crop market. Being a new role, the incumbent must possess keen leadership through influencing skills, ability to develop and locally execute business strategies, focus energy on must wins and leverage creativity and innovation to win an expanding market space. The PP Specialist is the primary conduit to addressing local market needs at the district level with the PP commercial and marketing strategies. The PP Specialist must be highly skilled in technical agronomy and posses the unique skill of converting technical information and data into effective selling, positioning and marketing tools. A key role of the PP Specialist is to execute the commercial strategy locally across the NFC districts as well as operationally manage the logistics of in season field work/applications. Syngenta must win in this emerging market space and the PP Specialist is accountable for delivering this ambition.

Accountabilities – 

Execution" function of the PP Commercial lead • Developmental role…2-3 years timeframe (similar to AgriEdge Specialist) • Primary district interface, approximately 1 Specialist per 2 districts. • Cultivate internal working relationships…primary goal should be to assist the Districts/BU in achieving CPP targets. • Coordinate PP data (yield, maps, etc) with TSR team. • Align local plans with PP strategy. • Development of clear and concise marketing tools to implement • Customer meetings, retail contact (KEY segmented) with local field team • National account proprietary product recommendations and message alignment • Technical support, data collection and analysis • Implementing the "operation", who goes where, when • Mapping, aerial applicator logistics, etc…overall resource mgt. • Conduct the training for Districts/Customers/DSR' etc

Knowledge, experience & capabilities –

Critical knowledge:

Minimum 2+ years in industry • Required field sales and/or experience • Proven track record in strategic decision making • Strong technical background recommended • Deep knowledge of retail customer business • Organizational effectiveness and product/brand/crop knowledge

Critical Skills:

• Excellent Negotiating skills. Communication and Interpersonal skills. Understanding of Headquarters operations. Manufacturing experience helpful. Project administration and policy writing. Leadership skills including mentoring, coaching, and team building. Ability to establish relationships with internal clients, site Procurement and regional Procurement Managers. Capability to initiate and lead cross-functional teams.

Critical experience:

This position requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years sales management/ marketing experience, preferably in the Ag industry
