Contact Name: Erica Levenson Email Address: erica.levenson@yoh.com Title: Procurement Manager Professional Services Company: Syngenta Global Type of Work: Full Time Where Job is Located: Golden Valley, MN Can Work from Home: No Must Hire By: N/A Job/Work/Project Description: Role purpose: To lead the sourcing of Professional Services which includes Marketing Services, Fleet Cars, Consultancy, Relocation, and Employee Training ensuring a strategic approach and adopting best in class methods to maximize the business contribution.  To be the company expert in the Services market in the market place in which that they operate.  Capable of operating at a high level and representing Syngenta within supplier organizations, while bringing value as an integral member of Syngenta business teams. Accountabilities:
  • Develop and implement regional procurement strategies
  • Negotiation of commercial agreements including legal contracts as appropriate
  • Understand Syngenta?s requirements and identifying appropriate suppliers
  • Develop and promote the use of a structured Supplier Relationship Management approach
  • Utilize and promote the use of available procurement and sourcing tools
  • Demonstrate the highest ethical standards and ensure company procedures are adopted and followed.
  • Continually seek and identify potential total cost of ownership savings opportunities
  • Ensure measurement and delivery of Procurement KPI?s that are aligned with business objectives.
  • Accountable to maintain current market knowledge and industry trends.
  • Accountable for the leadership and management of any direct reports.
Critical knowledge:
  • Bachelors Degree in either Technical or Business field.
  • MBA or CPM desired but not required.  Knowledge of SAP helpful
  • Ethical Procurement policies and procedures.  Knowledge of relevant business market trends.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Procurement Policies and Procedures.
  • Minimum of 5 years Procurement experience
Critical Skills: Excellent Negotiating skills.  High level of communication and interpersonal skills.  Understanding of Headquarters operations. Manufacturing experience helpful.  Project administration and policy writing. Leadership skills including mentoring, coaching, and team building.  Ability to establish relationships with internal clients, site Procurement and regional Procurement Managers.  Experience in legal contract review and support.  Knowledge of Statement of Work key elements.  Ability to gather and understand market intelligence data and communicate to Team.  Capability to initiate and lead cross-functional teams. Critical experience:
  • Experience in procuring both goods and services.
  • Understanding of the International Business environment.  Successful people leadership and management experience.
  • Experience in the Marketing and Human Resources services category with the ability to analyze the total cost of ownership to generate cost savings.
  • Knowledge of Advertising and Public Relations processes.
  • Successful track record of managing 3rd party services sourcing initiatives
Critical Success Factors/Key Challenges:
  • Ensure all regional service contracts are negotiated and finalized to realize Syngenta synergy savings for future target achievement.
  • Procurement Policies and Procedures are written and distributed to all sites.
  • Knowledge of all Syngenta site?s needs, spend data with the associated suppliers and categories, and Indirect Supply requirements, and processes to support business values.
  • Changes or improves processes as required.
  • Challenges the way Syngenta spends.
  • Ensure seamless transition with supplier community and successful interface with Global Teams.
