Communications Manager

Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the development of integrated, strategic communications plans in conjunction with the Crop teams and Product Managers while coordinating measurable and strategic campaign development to meet market objectives.
The incumbent will:
- Function as an integral member of agency review teams;
- Coordinate and implement the communications planning process;
- Maintain effective working relations and communications between the agencies and Bayer CropScience Product Managers;
- Work closely with Crop Team Leads to develop communications strategies consistent with crop market plan objectives;
- Work closely with Product Managers to develop communications strategies consistent with product strategy;
- Work closely with Product Managers to develop overall communications strategies and implement new product launches;
- Ensure messages are "on strategy" across all aspects of communications including advertising, public relations, direct marketing, brand development, budget management and sales support activities;
- Develop processes and procedures to more effectively implement communication tactics and reach market goals;
- Remain up-to-date with changes in industry standards and technology that affect communication and promotion.
Qualifications
The selected candidate will possess:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, or equivalent with a minimum of 8 years' experience in advertising agencies or agricultural industry marketing;
- Expertise in communications strategy development, measurable outcomes and tactical implementation is preferred as is experience in trademark management, integrated communications and CRM strategy development;
- A thorough understanding of the various aspects and problems of the agricultural market is expected;
- Demonstrated knowledge of communications methodologies / agency practices;
- Demonstrated excellent organizational, follow up and analytical skills are necessary along with the proven ability to multi-task in a rapid-paced, matrix environment;
- Extensive interpersonal, communication skills (oral and written) and project management skills;
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in advertising, journalism, or ag-marketing.
