Location: Waterloo, Iowa

Your Clients: Kruger Seeds, Inc., Novartis Animal Health, Iowa Corn Growers Association/Promotion Board

Primary Purpose of this Position: The person selected for this position will develop integrated marketing communications projects and programs. This position is responsible for building and maintaining good client relationships, by working with the Waterloo-, Waukesha- and Minneapolis-based staff to develop projects that are high quality, cost-effective and timely.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities: - Implement assignments, including preparation and management of communication plans, interviews, research, writing, design direction -Manage client activities to ensure project completion in a timely, cost-effective and quality manner - Make contact with media through use of appropriate PR techniques - Support senior account personnel in client contact - Participate with senior account personnel in monitoring time and expenses on assigned accounts - Contribute to invoice preparation and income/expense projections. - Participate in implementing communications programs - Meeting the M&M Code of Client Service - Perform ongoing assignments under limited supervision - Perform other duties as required by team leader

Education/Experience:  - Degree in journalism or related field - 2+ years' experience in agricultural marketing communications desirable - Agricultural background/interest is a plus

Knowledge/Skill Qualifications: - A basic understanding of agriculture including animal health and seed - Strong writing, interviewing and editing skills - An appreciation of public relations, advertising, direct marketing, new media and the role they collectively play in integrated communications - Ability to handle multiple projects and account contacts and adapt to changing circumstances - Ability to direct creative staff - Excellent organizational abilities, utilizing personal skills, other people and material resources - Attention to details - Self-confident and takes pride in high quality work - Respect for and support of other team members

Physical/Mental Demands: Ability to: - Give, receive and analyze information - Formulate work plans - Prepare written materials - Articulate goals and action plans - Understand people and communicate effectively with them - Handle occasional high stress situations

Special Working Conditions: - Work in a typical office setting - Some traveling required
