Responsibilities: CHS, Inc., a Fortune 150, diversified energy, grain and foods company is seeking a well qualified, professional to join us within our Country Hedging Division as the Manager of Carbon Credit Trading. This position will provide leadership for the aggregation and trading of carbon credits in the agricultural sector.
As the Manager of Carbon Credit Trading, you will develop and build a cost effective trading program that is compatible with and capitalizes on the CHS origination network. You will be responsible for trading carbon credits with appropriate counter parties/exchanges, creating a positive P&L and establishing credibility in the marketplace. Support the CHS Business Units as they decide what direction their Carbon Credit Strategy will assume.
You will be responsible for researching and becoming the resident expert on greenhouse gas legislation and its impact on the industry. An important function of the position will be to educate the CHS staffs who interact with customers regarding CHS programs and market opportunities related to carbon credits. You will also provide education to affiliates who deal with producers regarding CHS’s carbon credit program.
Requirements: 4 year degree in Ag Business/Economics or related field. This position requires a high level of knowledge regarding commodity markets and trading techniques, at least five years actual successful trading and any experience within carbon markets is a plus. Minimum 8 -10 years of corporate-level program and project experience.
Exceptional understanding of strategy / operations and the ability to work with business units and CHS customers to help them reach their desired outcomes. Ability to build consensus and secure cooperation from diverse stakeholders. Highly numerate, creative, driven, commercial, team player with global outlook.
The candidate must have excellent leadership skills and have exhibited a high level of individual drive and success achieving above defined objectives. Exceptional verbal and written communications skills and the ability to present developing concepts as well as teach and sell at the CEO/Board of Directors level.
